From a very young age, Taghmaoui has taken a fervent interest in Swiss watchmaking, particularly for its finesse and magic. He has acquired many watches, always as part of a search for the very best. This is indeed what led him to become a devotee of the Christophe Claret brand and to develop a fascination for the passion that drives its creator.
The Moroccan-born artist was born in France on July 19th 1973.
He made his debut with the hip-hop group Assassin, through whom he met Mathieu Kassovitz, who gave him his first chance to reveal himself to the audience in the film La Haine (Hatred): he was nominated for a César in 1996.
He became one of the few French actors to be cast in films in the United States. His role as an Iraqi soldier in Three Kings, alongside George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg, launched his career in Hollywood.
In 2006, Omar Sharif presented him with "The Golden Pyramid", an Egyptian award for the best actor in the Arab world, and on this occasion addressed this tribute to him: "You are my heir, my successor...".
In 2017, he played a role in the Hollywood blockbuster Wonder Woman.
In 2018, Saïd Taghmaoui joined the Academy of Film Arts and Sciences, known for selecting films and actors competing for the Oscars.
